Diaz, and it's not even close. I've never been a proponent of GSP-Silva, because Silva defeating GSP has always been much of a fait accompli as GSP beating Penn was. GSP had too much size for Penn in the same way Silva has too much size for GSP. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing GSP-Silva, but I'm not clamoring for it in the slightest.
Now, I also believe that Diaz has barely any chance to beat GSP, but I'll pay to see Diaz fight damn near anyone, because he's the most unique fighter in MMA. So pretty much by default, gimme GSP vs. Diaz.

The fight that needs to happen at this stage is GSP versus Nick Diaz. Though the promising Anderson Silva versus GSP seems to be the one everyone has wanted to see, it would feel incomplete for GSP to do that fight, and not have fought Nick Diaz to be the undisputed top welterweight in the world. Granted, GSP is already number one, and I'm sure betting lines would favor GSP over Diaz heavily, but it would still be that one fight that's needed to say without a doubt GSP has cleaned out the division, in both the UFC and Strikeforce.

Both matchups are intriguing, but the GSP vs. Silva fight is the one I am not sure who will win. GSP will beat Diaz with very little question in my mind. The super fight between GSP and Anderson Silva would also be one of the largest selling fights of all time. The only problem is that GSP does not seem like he is 100 percent behind the Anderson Silva fight. I think the UFC will apply enough pressure on GSP to make this fight happen late in 2012.

Nick Diaz vs GSP, so everyone fooled by Nick Diaz will see he is no where near St. Pierre's level. I think it would also be a very boring fight, with GSP holding Diaz down for five rounds, but I'd like to see it so the hype of this fighter who has fought one top 10 fighter in the last five years is put to rest.

I think GSP would stand a better chance against Anderson Silva than Nick Diaz will stand against GSP, but I would rather see Diaz vs. GSP because both guys would like it. Diaz and GSP would both be for this fight. GSP has made it pretty obvious that he'd rather not fight Silva at this time. That's cool, it's his rep on the line, and if he doesn't feel comfortable with having that fight right now, that's his right. GSP vs. Diaz would be a good fight. Maybe after that fight, GSP would be willing to go to 185 and fight Silva.

Give me GSP-Diaz. Nick Diaz has been my favorite fighter since he knocked out Robbie Lawler at UFC 47 over seven years ago. It's not that I'm not still super excited about the GSP-Silva superfight to end all superfights, but I'm still under the impression that when that fight happens, it'll signal St. Pierre's permanent exit from the welterweight division. If he's going to leave 170 behind, I'd rather he cleaned out the division of all viable challengers, and at this point Nick Diaz is the only one left. GSP-Diaz first, then GSP-Silva.
